ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Data Science Lead to join our team in El Segundo, CA. This position will be onsite 5 days a week.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Science Lead to spearhead the deployment of analytical products and drive data-driven decision-making within the AtlasX Business Innovations Office at Space Systems Command (SSC). The successful candidate will be responsible for leading efforts in data analytics, business intelligence, and artificial intelligence to support AtlasX's organizational and cultural transformation efforts. This position requires a strong background in data science methodologies, experience with agile development practices, and the ability to translate business needs into actionable data-driven solutions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Data Analytics Strategy and Implementation: Develop and implement a data analytics strategy to support AtlasX's transformation objectives.

  • Requirements Elicitation and Analysis: Elicit functional and non-functional requirements for analytical products in alignment with digital transformation needs.

  • Design and Development of Analytical Products: Lead the design, development, and deployment of data science, business intelligence, and artificial intelligence products, using agile Kanban approaches.

  • Data Pipeline Development: Oversee the identification of relevant data sources and the design of robust pipelines for data ingestion and cleansing.

  • Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics: Utilize available data to analyze historical trends, implement predictive models, and develop prescriptive analytics to recommend actions.

  • Dashboard and Self-Service Analytics Development: Lead the development of dashboards and self-service analytics capabilities to empower stakeholders to interact with data.

  • AI Use Case Development and Implementation: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop clear use cases for AI applications and oversee their implementation.

  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and accuracy of analytical products through the development and execution of comprehensive test plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field; Master's degree preferred.

  • 8+ years of experience in data science, business intelligence, or data analytics, preferably within a government or defense environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI dashboard development.

  • Experience with agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)

  • Strong knowledge of data mining, machine learning, statistical modeling, and data visualization techniques.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL).

  • Experience with business intelligence platforms and dashboarding tools.

  • Ability to work on-site in El Segundo, CA.

Clearance Requirements:

  • US Citizenship required; Must possess or be eligible for a Secret security clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.

  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.


The projected compensation range for this position is $126,300.00-$210,300.00.
