Summary Description:
Syntiant Corp., a leader in the high-growth AI software and semiconductor solutions space, is looking for an experienced and talented Field Application Engineer to take on a critical role with expansive responsibilities and play a leading role in enhancing the Sales function in a growing organization.
The Member of Technical Staff (Field) position is a key contributor that connects engineering, sales and the Syntiant customer base by supporting the technical aspects of design win, design in, and the path to production of Syntiant’s industry-leading Neural Decision Processors and Syntiant vision and hearing neural network models.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Become an expert user of Syntiant technology and a trusted technical resource for the assigned customer base.
- Work closely with sales and product management to win customer designs and drive them to production.
- Answer customer questions on applications of Syntiant technology.
- Train customers and Syntiant sales channels in the use of Syntiant technology.
- Work with core engineering for product enhancements and development.
Requirements
Qualifications, Education, and Experience Required:
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience, preference to Field Application Engineer or related role.
- B.Sc, M.Sc in EE, CS or related field preferred.
- Python, C and C++ coding skills for customer and lab software.
- Linux and RTOS experience.
- Must have strong interpersonal and presentations skills.
- Up to 50% travel to in-geography geographically customers, company R&D sites, and some potential for out-of-geography customer travel as necessary.
- Machine learning experience a plus.
- Hardware debug and development experience a plus.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting base pay for this role is targeted to be between $170,000 - $200,000 in addition, this role is eligible for our annual incentive plan bonus at 10% of base. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Syntiant, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range. We recognize that the person(s) we select for hire may be less experienced or more experienced than the role as posted; if this is the case, any updates to available salary ranges will be communicated with candidates during the recruitment process.
