In this critical role, the Solution Architect, will be part of a team responsible for building infrastructure-as-code pipelines, delivering self-service tooling, supporting internal product teams, and driving platform adoption. These roles are part of a deliberate strategy to elevate our cloud engineering function into a high-leverage, globally distributed capability that improves developer experience, accelerates delivery, and supports long-term scalability.

Role Responsibilities

• Architect and build new cloud solutions to meet business and application needs.
• Provision and optimize AWS cloud resources to support scalable and secure workloads.
• Work on application team tickets, providing cloud support and infrastructure solutions.
• Automate AWS tasks using AWS Lambda, CloudFormation, and Terraform.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure a seamless cloud environment.
• Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting of cloud service-related issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve infrastructure and application problems.
• Support data recovery and backup strategies to ensure high availability.
• Optimize containerized workloads and troubleshoot EKS/Kubernetes and ECS environments.
• Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available AWS architectures.
• Ensure compliance with AWS security best practices and manage IAM policies.
• Optimize API Gateway and containerized workloads for microservices architectures.
• Develop and execute disaster recovery and data replication strategies.
• Implement configuration management using Ansible to streamline deployments.
• Manage Docker image builds and vulnerability remediation for containerized applications.
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Spinnaker, or similar tools.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Develop automation scripts using Python or Node.js.
• Write Bash scripts to optimize cloud workflows and streamline operations.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve system reliability

Role Requirements 

• Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, data science, or similar field with 3+ years of total IT experience, with at least 2+ years of hands-on cloud engineering/solution architecture experience. 
• OR Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of total IT experience and 3+ years of hands-on cloud engineering/solution architecture experience.   Equivalent working experience will be considered.
• Experience migrating resources to AWS Cloud and optimizing cloud-based applications.

Technical Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience in AWS services: EC2, RDS, S3, Load Balancers, CloudFront, Kafka, EMR, EKS, ECS, Route 53, SFTP, CloudWatch, ElastiCache, etc.
• Expertise in Terraform & CloudFormation scripting for automated infrastructure provisioning.
• Experience with AWS EKS/Kubernetes, AWS ECS, and API management using AWS API Gateway.
• Strong knowledge of container workloads and orchestration.
• Experience in data recovery, backup, and disaster recovery planning using AWS Backup.

• Strong ability to troubleshoot AWS-related issues and CloudWatch log insights.
• Experience with data recovery and restore operations.

• Hands-on experience with Ansible for configuration management.
• Expertise in Docker image builds and vulnerability remediation.
• Strong understanding of IAM policies, security compliance, and AWS networking best practices.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Spinnaker preferred).
• Strong grasp of DevOps principles and automation frameworks.

• Proficiency in Python or Node.js for cloud automation.
• Experience in Bash scripting to automate operational tasks.

Certifications (Preferred):

• AWS Certifications: SysOps Administrator, DevOps Professional, Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, or AWS Specialty certifications.
• Terraform Certification (completed).

• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across teams.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to take ownership of cloud solutions.
• Ability to problem-solve, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud performance.

Salary 

The on-target earning range is $100,000 - $120,000 per year, which includes a base salary and variable target incentive (including short-term) that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidate’s qualifications, skills and competencies.
