Modefinance is a TeamSystem Group company and Europe's first fintech rating agency.

It develops solutions for credit risk management, utilising the most advanced data science and artificial intelligence technologies on behalf of financial institutions, investment funds and large corporate business.

By combining the expertise of a rating agency with the most advanced information technology, Modefinance offers its international clients tools to automate and streamline the credit risk assessment process.

Modefinance is looking for a Data Scientist to join our the Fitnech Research, Modeling and Analytics Team (ReMA) at Modefinance’s headquarters in Trieste.

The ReMA is dedicated to the development of custom solutions and models in the field of credit risk on the client’s side. Additionally, the team focuses on enhancing and developing new internal algorithms to improve and expand modefinance’s own models and methodologies.

The Data Scientist will work in the project oriented team, consequently, he will see the entire life of the project, starting from the customers’ business requirements through the development phase to the delivery and post-delivery customer’s assistance.

Specifically:

• Technical Skills and Financial Knowledge Development: learn financial statement and credit risk analysis fundamentals, handle the application of advanced numerical methodologies into the field of credit risk;
• Technology Integration: interact with modefinance’s IT department and learn new IT technologies;
• Independence: when sufficient experience is acquired, work independently on the entire project;

REQUIREMENTS

• Master's Degree: Master’s degree (EQF lvl 7) in scientific studies, such as quantitative finance, physics, engineering, natural sciences, or statistical sciences.
• English Proficiency: Proficiency in English at a B2 level.
• Programming Skills: Advanced knowledge in any of the following programming languages: Python, MATLAB, R, Stata, or C++.
• Professional Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in data analysis, model development, validation, and implementation of quantitative models.
• Financial Knowledge: Basic knowledge of company financial statements.
