Postdoctoral Researcher in the area of machine learning for computer vision

We are currently seeking a skilled and highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to address exciting research challenges in the area of machine learning for computer vision.

Your role and goals
The postdoc researcher will collaborate with doctoral students to develop machine learning solutions for video-based human action recognition, and contribute to research publications. Besides research work, the postdoc is expected to assist the supervisor in project management tasks and the preparation of funding applications.

Your network and team
The mobile cloud computing group (mobilecloud.aalto.fi) led by Prof. Yu Xiao conducts experimental systems research on novel mobile computing systems for smart manufacturing and digital health.

Your experience and ambitions
We are looking for candidates with a doctoral degree (or will shortly satisfy the requirement of a PhD) in a relevant discipline, and demonstrated hands-on experience with deep learning technologies. Experience with large language models or computer vision applications is considered as a plus.

What we offer
The contract period is initially for 1 year, with an extension possibility. The expected starting salary for junior-level postdoc is approximately 4000 Euro/month, depending on experience and qualifications. The contract includes occupational health benefits, holiday bonus, and Finland has a comprehensive social security system.

Starting date is August 1, 2025, or as mutually agreed upon with the supervisor.
