Data Engineering Lead Analyst 
 

Position Overview 

 

The Enterprise Operations Analytics (EOA) organization supports the data and analytical needs of Cigna’s Enterprise Operations. As a center of excellence for best practices in Data Engineering, Web Application Development, Data Science, Advanced Analytics, and Business Intelligence, the team brings together data from customer contact centers, client benefit design/install, provider solutions/network operations, print/digital communications, and beyond in novel ways to provide actionable insights to business partners ranging from front-line Prior Authorization Representatives and Patient Care Advocates to Senior Leadership. By turning data into information, and information into insight, we passionately strive to make the operational services provided by Cigna/Evernorth to customers, clients, and providers the safest, most efficient, most convenient, and most trusted in the world. 

 

The Data Engineering Lead Analyst will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. To be successful in this role, you must understand ETL processes and be experienced in supporting production ready applications. You must also have excellent communication skills and be able to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. 

They will be responsible for partnering with key players in Customer Service, Client Service, Provider Service, and Workforce Planning, while drawing on support from Technology, Finance, Strategy, Operational Readiness, and Solutions Delivery.  

 

 

Roles & Responsibilities 

  

  • Design and implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions. 

  • Optimize and maintain existing ETL workflows for improved efficiency and performance. 

  • Ensure data integrity and quality through rigorous testing and validation. 

  • Provide support on CI/CD pipelines and automation.  

  • Create and implement best practices to ensure successful delivery and support of Production ready applications.  

Qualifications 

 

Required Experience & Education:  

  • 5 - 8 years of relevant production support and project experience. 

  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, SSIS, along with proficiency in scripting languages like Python. 

  • Experience with Relational Database Development – Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, PostgreSQL or equivalent required.  

  • Strong understanding of database concepts and experience with query optimization and performance tuning. 

  • Experience with scheduling tools such as CA Workload Automation.  

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions. 

 

Required Skills: 

  • Informatica, SSIS, SQL (SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata) 

  • Job Scheduling (Airflow, DAG, Control M, etc.) 

  • Performance Tuning, Issue Resolution 

  • Python, Databricks, DevOps, Basic Cloud Experience (AWS/Azure) 

 

Preferred Skills, Experience & Education: 

  • Cloud Certification (AWS Cloud Practitioner or similar)
