Senior Consultant, Derivatives

Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Technical Business Analyst or Senior Data Analyst for Data Mesh/Derivatives Data Modernization/Cloud Enablement program who is self-motivated, creative and proactive, to work successfully in a fast-paced environment including multiple platforms, architectures, and diverse technologies.

A Senior Data Analyst typically involves analyzing and interpreting complex data, developing data-driven strategies, and providing insights to guide business decisions. They often lead projects, mentor junior analysts, and collaborate with stakeholders across various business units.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis & Interpretation: Applying advanced analytical techniques to extract meaningful insights from large and complex datasets. Document the Reporting requirements by working with internal or external stake holders.

Data Governance & Quality: Ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and consistency, and implementing data governance practices.

· Document the data catalog or data dictionary using Collibra

· Define the Data quality rules using the Collibra or Alteryx.

· Automate the reconciliations processes using the Alteryx, or Duco tools

Data Collection & Management: Designing and implementing data collection systems, and managing data flow. Work with Development team to build, test and implement the data management solutions.

Business Insight Generation: Identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies in data to inform strategic decision-making.

Data Visualization & Reporting: Creating clear and compelling visualizations and reports to communicate insights to stakeholders. Create or maintain the Power BI dashboards with derivatives metrics/volumes

Project Management & Leadership: Leading data analytics projects, managing timelines and resources, and mentoring junior analysts.

· Participate in daily stand-ups to track progress and identify potential roadblocks.

· Contribute to sprint retrospectives to identify areas for improvement.

· Actively participate in backlog grooming sessions to refine and prioritize user stories.

Collaboration & Communication: Working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand business needs and communicate findings effectively.

Statistical Analysis & Modeling: Utilizing statistical methods and machine learning techniques to build predictive models and forecast future trends.

Technology Proficiency: Demonstrating expertise in programming languages like Python, or R, database management (SQL), and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

Problem Solving & Critical Thinking: Identifying and solving complex data-related problems and making data-driven recommendations to improve business performance.

BAU Data Management Support:

· Monitor, verify or resolve any data quality issues with existing reporting.

· Build the test plans, test cases and perform the UAT and Regression testing.

· Post install verification for any Implementation support.

· Regression testing support for any technology upgrades or DR testing

· Exception monitoring and root cause analysis for BAU Reporting Issues including Regulatory reporting.

· Support the static data setup and maintenance for adding or removing Account, Assets, products and services.

Required Technical Skills:

· Proficiency in SQL and Data visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, Sigma, or Tableau)

· Working knowledge with one or more Data bases such as SQL server, Oracle, Azure or Snowflake.

· Working knowledge with any Data governance tools such as Collibra.

· Working knowledge with any Data automation and analytics tools such as Alteryx, or Duco .

· Working knowledge with any Programming Languages such as Python, Java or any other ETL tools .

Education:

· Bachelor's or master’s degree in a relevant field such as business, finance, information technology, or a related discipline

Work Experience

· At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst in Agile methodology

Salary Range:

$83,100 - 141,300 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
