About The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our team, with a specific focus on Accounting Operations and Cash Reporting flows. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing non-structured data sources, building and maintaining data models, reporting, and insights for Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Client Refund processes, particularly related to open balances. You will work closely with both the Finance and Operations teams to ensure accurate data visibility, enabling informed decision[1]making across the organization.

As a Data Analyst in the Digital Product Analytics team, you’ll collaborate with multiple teams (Product, Tech, Data Platform…), but will be focused on cash flow and accounting operations. Your ability to develop actionable operational reports will be crucial. You’ll need to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, ensuring that our data reporting processes are efficient, reliable, and aligned with business needs.

What You Will Do Here:

  • Cash Reporting & AR/AP Analysis: Create and maintain dashboards and reports that provide insights into open balances and cash flow metrics (AR, AP, and Unbalanced Client Refunds
  • Data Structuring & Modelling: Develop and manage Looker and dbt models to create those reports.
  • Problem-Solving & Process Improvement: Identify and solve data issues, ensuring data quality and integrity across the organization.
  • Collaborate with Finance & Operations: Work closely with the Finance and Operations teams to understand key accounting workflows, provide visibility into cash and balance sheet data and ensure alignment on reporting requirements.
  • Business Insights: Manage communication of complex financial data and insights with business stakeholders in an easy-to-understand format.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: In this role, you will work closely with multiple teams such as Finance, Operations, Data Platform, and Salesforce Engineering.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a data analyst or analytics engineer role.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field, Math, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or similar.
  • SQL Proficiency: Highly proficient in SQL, with experience building complex queries.
  • Visualization Tools: Experience using Looker (preferred), Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex data and financial concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Agile Experience: Experience working in Agile environments, preferably with Jira, to collaborate efficiently with cross-functional teams

Extra Credit:

  • Strong understanding of finance, accounting operations, and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cash flow, AR/AP, and financial reporting
  • Knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems, preferably: Applied Epic (Insurance agency management software).
  • Exposure to Salesforce.
  • Prior experience working with insurance carriers and payment collections.
  • Experience in building data pipelines and automating data processes (exposure to dbt is a plus)
