About the role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our data team, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in modern data integration and transformation tools, including Snowflake, Stitch, DBT, FiveTran, to support our data-driven decision-making processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data availability, reliability, and scalability while optimizing our data workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Stitch and FiveTran to ingest data from various sources into Snowflake.
  • Implement and manage data transformation workflows using DBT (Data Build Tool) to ensure clean, reliable, and well-documented datasets.
  • Optimize and tune Snowflake data warehouse performance, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Implement, maintain and optimize LookML data models to deliver high quality user experience.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality datasets.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with best practices throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, providing timely resolutions to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data engineering processes, tools, and standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
  • Proven expertise with Stitch and FiveTran for data integration and ETL processes.
  • Strong proficiency in DBT for data modeling, transformation, and testing.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake, including data warehousing, SQL optimization, and cluster management.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in event driven architecture using standard message queues (i.e.RabbitMQ, SQS or Kafka)
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or Scala for data processing.
  • Solid understanding of data pipeline architecture, cloud infrastructure, and best practices in data engineering.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with additional cloud platforms (e.g., Amazon RedShift or Google BigQuery).
  • Knowledge of data governance, versioning, and CI/CD practices in a data engineering context.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Looker is a plus.
