Summary
The mission of the Analytics Center of Excellence (ACE) is to develop cutting edge analytic solutions that empowers Salt River Project to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions related to the delivery of power and water to its customers across the Phoenix Metro area.
As a Product Owner in the ACE, you will play an important role on the analytics development team to ensure that each product we deliver provides the maximum amount of value to users. You will work with stakeholders to understand their goals and help craft the vision for the resulting analytics solution. You will work with developers to create and prioritize a roadmap of tasks required in order to build the product. You will help coordinate releases and evaluate the completion of development tasks. Throughout this entire development lifecycle, you will be frequently communicating and demonstrating status to the customer and will act as their advocate with the development team.

What You'll Do
- Work with customers to understand business processes and applications
- Gather and document project requirements
- Work closely with fellow ACE team members (Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Visualization Developers) throughout the development process, being available to answer questions, clarify requirements, and make decisions on the Business User's behalf
- Identify project risks and impediments, and proactively work with other members of the team on mitigation
- Review completed development work and assist in testing
- Meet regularly with customers to review and demonstrate delivered functionality, and to capture new or changed requirements
- Help maintain the team's backlog and roadmap
- Prepare documentation
- Ability to quickly learn new systems, adapt, and refocus in a fast paced, agile development environment

What It Takes To Succeed
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Ability to query data from databases
- Ability to perform detailed data analysis (i.e. determine the structure, content, and quality of the data through examination of source systems and data samples)
- Experience with project management
- Foundational knowledge of data analytics (designing actionable metrics/KPIs and storytelling with data)
Additional Information
- Responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring for projects.
- Occasional contacts with vendors of software, equipment and services.
- Occasional travel to industry organizational functions and SRP facilities.
- Ability to work effectively using the services of various organizational groups within SRP.
- Depending on assignment, frequent requirement to work with confidential data such as payroll and employee information.
Experience
The ideal candidate will be at the Level 3 (Senior), and a minimum of five years of related experience is required (if no degree, nine years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling nine years).
Education
A bachelor’s degree related to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona. We are taking steps to protect the health and well-being of all team members, and by following a number of health and safety protocols, to reduce the risk of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
