WHO we’re looking for:
Role and Responsibilities:
- Define architecture, design, and support complex data analytics applications using Big Data technologies.
- Develop and implement Data warehousing applications (Tableau a plus).
- Use PySpark, Python, Ab Initio (ETL tools) to ingest data into data analytics Hadoop platform.
- Use Hadoop, Hive, Big Data skill, PySpark HDFS, Spark with Python/Scala (Developer background).
- Utilize Hive, Pig & Impala for data analysis extraction in and from the specific Data Warehouse, Data Lake or Data Marts.
- Use Oracle, Teradata and NoSQL database including Mongo Db to ingest and analyze semi-structured and unstructured data.
- Contribute to the development of new processes and improvement of the data analytics team by integrating the subject matter expertise of the field.
- Resolve problems and projects through evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
- Ensure technical integration of functions.
- Use Unix and Linux OS, shell scripts to harness and utilize the capabilities of the big data and Hadoop ecosystem.
- Contribute to set data analytics standards that can be used across teams for creating robust programs, implementation and debugging errors.
- Analyze issues and develop innovative solutions.
- Serve as advisor or coach to developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary.
Required Experience and Education:
- 3-5 years of directly related experience required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar technical field.
- Must have current Python programming experience.
- Strong Python development experience, preferably in data engineering and handling large data sets.
- Pandas' experience is a must.
- Strong SQL scripting knowledge.
- AutoSys scheduling experience.
- Experience in managing work with distributed teams.
- Experience working in SCRUM methodology.

- Limited supervision and the exercise of
discretion.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the contract employee is
occasionally required to stand, clean, crawl, kneel, sit, sort, hold, squat,
stoop, stand, twist the body, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel
objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs or ladders
and scaffolding, talk or hear, and lift up to 20 pounds. Specific vision
abilities required by the job include ability to distinguish the nature of
objects by using the eye. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display
terminal between 50% - 95% of work time, including prolonged periods of time. Requires considerable (90%+) work
utilizing high visual acuity/detail, numeric/character distinction, and
moderate hand/finger dexterity.
Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally
periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual
challenge, some language barriers, and project management deadlines. May
require working additional time beyond normal schedule and periodic travel.
