The role is focused on strengthening Group Treasury's data governance, which is essential for maintaining quality in financial risk management and regulatory reporting. It will support Group Treasury's Risk Management function in a Line 1 capacity, with a strong emphasis on Data Risk. The aim is to consistently manage risks to ensure they remain within the set risk appetite.
This role also contributes to Group Treasury governance by participating in key forums and committees, such as the Treasury Risk Forum and others as needed. It also assists with regulatory engagements and advocates for Integrated Risk Management (IRM) by helping staff manage IRM objects effectively. Additionally, the role represents Treasury Line 1 Risk in various Bank and Group Risk forums as required
How you will make an impact
- Lead Data Governance for Treasury to ensure data quality management.
- Identify and maintain Treasury Critical Data elements with Data owners.
- Document data lineage and capture transformation processes.
- Control data risks to ensure quality from source to use.
- Address changes impacting data quality, lineage, or controls.
Furthermore, the role will support Line 1 Risk Management by developing Treasury controls for effective risk management and compliance, analysing risk, regulatory and change projects while supporting remediation efforts and maintaining Group Treasury risk profiles in alignment with AMP Bank and the Group team.
What you will bring to the role
- Minimum 5 years in Data risk management, preferably in finance, Risk, Treasury or Markets.
- At least 7 years in general risk management with proven risk analysis and control design.
- Undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in finance or mathematics.
- Exceptional knowledge of data risk practices and data controls.
- Excellent technical skills in data analysis.
- Good understanding of best practice risk management and APRA expectations.
- Solid understanding of control design, implementation and monitoring.
We are looking for a candidate with excellent knowledge of risk management, data practices and APRA expectations, capable of designing and monitoring effective controls. You should have experience collaborating with stakeholders, managing activities to timelines and performing critical analysis for risk and financial assessments. The ability to think critically and solve problems independently and collaboratively is essential.
