Job Description
 

Gilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide.  Gilead Sciences is looking for a Sr Manager, Information Systems Manager, to join the Clinical Data Science Development Systems team. This is a critical role responsible for leading and driving technical teams to deliver projects, providing technical review across CDS platforms, and piloting novel technology to solve business problems. This role is expected to be a Tech Lead who can lead engineers and implement solutions for the CDS Dev Systems team. This role will interface with cross-functional teams at Gilead Sciences, and key stakeholders. Communication of technical content to an audience of varied technical experience is important.

Specific duties, job functions:

  • Design, Develop and Operationalize technical solutions for business needs.

  • Lead business and technology aspects of new GenAI Advanced Analytics projects such as Trial Protocol Digitization and large-scale Medical Imaging.

  • Lead business and technology needs for Real World Evidence (observational data) to support large-scale analytics (OMOP/ATLAS tools)

  • Lead and design scalable solutions to support multi-modal(structured, imaging, omics) data platform

  • Oversee technical team of engineers to deliver key projects, and serve as technical lead to ensure business needs are met.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 8 years’ experience

OR

Master’s degree and 6 years’ experience

OR

PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the biotech/life sciences industry, or another highly regulated industry.

  • Understanding of drug development phases and the nature of associated clinical trials across phases.

  • Experience with building/supporting imaging data platform.

  • Experience with building Data Analytics and Data Science tools.

  • Familiarity with Machine Learning workflows and MLOps.

  • Experience with High Performance Compute technology.

  • Experience with DataBricks.

  • B.S. in a technical discipline and 5+ years experience with data analytics solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to solve business needs in the observational/real-world data and the Advanced Analytics domains with technical solutions.

  • Ability to integrate functional expertise with commercial knowledge in life sciences.

  • Experience leading technical teams.

  • Strong experience delivering cloud-native solutions and managing systems with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation.

  • Proficiency in Python and Relational Databases.

  • Proficiency in agile development methodologies


 

The salary range for this position is: $169,320.00 - $219,120.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
