To drive data-informed decision-making across the entire credit lifecycle of a digital consumer lending business. The Credit Business Analyst will support strategic and operational initiatives across acquisition, credit risk, fraud prevention, customer management, and collections. The role requires deep analytical expertise to optimize financial performance, enhance customer value, and support sustainable portfolio growth.
This position involves close collaboration with a team of other business analysts, data analysts/scientists, product teams, and operations to ensure alignment and drive outcomes. The role is end-to-end in nature, covering ideation, analysis, stakeholder buy-in (including senior leadership), implementation, and ongoing monitoring to ensure strategies are delivering the desired impact.
Main Responsibilities
The Credit Business Analyst will be dedicated to one of the following areas: Acquisition and Growth Strategies, Credit Risk Analytics, Fraud Prevention, Customer Management, CX/Ops, and Collections Strategy.
Specific responsibilities for each area can include:
- Acquisition and Growth Strategies.
- Analyze acquisition campaigns performance, funnel conversion rates, and attribution to optimize user acquisition.
- Design, execute and evaluate experiments to enhance customer insights and expand the credit product, including foundational tests to optimize underwriting and pricing strategies
- Support pricing and low-and-grow strategies based on risk-return tradeoffs and competitive benchmarks
- Collaborate with the product team to evaluate A/B tests and performance of onboarding journeys
- Support capacity planning models for the operations team
- Credit Risk Analytics
- Support the development and monitoring of credit valuation models, including AI/ML-based underwriting

- nsure strategies are developed and implemented accurately by: validating assumptions, supporting teams with user acceptance testing, and ensuring that credit policies and tests align with business plans
- Serve as a mentor to junior team members, providing guidance and support in developing their analytical skills and understanding of business processes. Actively engage with cross-functional teams to gather feedback, build consensus, and drive the adoption of new solutions and processes
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in credit risk analysis, lending strategies and financial technology
- Promote an autonomous work culture by encouraging self-management, accountability, and proactive problem-solving among team members

Required Knowledge and Experience
- 2+ years of experience in an analytical role. Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to derive insights from complex data.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment, collaborating with data, product, operations, technology, etc.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into actionable business insights and influence stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
- Learning & growth mindset, with a desire to continuously improve skills and contribute to a development-focused culture.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or a similar analytical discipline.
- Experience in financial services, fintech, or digital lending environments as a business analyst or in a similar role.
- Technical skills in data analysis tools (SQL, Python, etc.), statistical analysis, financial modeling, and data visualization (Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.).
- Familiarity with the end-to-end credit lifecycle, from acquisition to collections.

- Conduct risk segmentation, portfolio monitoring, and early warning indicators for delinquency trends
- Define credit risk policies to approve or decline and credit limits definition aligned with targets on losses and user experience
- Forecast losses and provisions under multiple macroeconomic and behavioral scenarios
- Fraud Prevention
- Define and improve real-time fraud detection monitoring models to identify emerging patterns and recommend rule optimizations
- Define fraud prevention policies aligned with the targets on losses and user experience
- Partner with operations and data science teams to analyze incidents and reduce false positives
- Customer Management
- Analyze behavioral data to support renewal strategies and upsell opportunities
- Calculate and optimize customer lifetime value (CLV) and franchise value models
- Develops graduation policies, credit limit increase policies, upsell strategies, etc.
- Build segmentation strategies for engagement and retention campaigns
- Work closely with our operations team to forecast customer support and inform staffing choices
- Help product and operations teams understand support statistics to prioritize the development of self-service tools and call mitigation
- Collections Strategy
- Evaluate effectiveness of collections strategies using Champion/Challenger testing frameworks
- Set and execute segmentation and treatment paths to improve recovery rates while minimizing operational costs
- Support capacity planning models for call centers agents, and digital collections
Common responsibilities across all the areas:
- Develop and maintain key credit product monitoring dashboards
- Estimation of key unit economics assumptions, support strategic initiatives, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize credit product performance
- Conduct advanced data analysis using tools like SQL and Python to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform strategic decision making
- Identify and propose process improvements in credit decisioning, risk assessment, and loan portfolio performance
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including other Credit Squad teams (Acquisition, Customer Management, Collections, Customer Experience) as well as members of the Data, Product and technical teams to design and implement data-driven solutions that optimize credit performance
- Manage and coordinate credit-related business analysis activities within larger projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of project milestones
- Experience in credit risk analysis or credit/lending roles is a plus.
