GM Technology & Major Cap Group | ICT Division | Risk, Data & Insight Systems | Threat Risk & Intervention Systems
The key objective of the Threat Risk & Intervention Systems Section is to work with key stakeholders to facilitate the establishment of an intelligence led; risk based layered capability to enable border risk assessments to support the identification of persons and goods that require intervention while facilitating legitimate trade and travel. The program will enable earlier and better informed responses to all border threats. A secondary objective of the program is to work with stakeholders across the portfolio on the consolidation of risk tools, with an initial focus on rules engines.

Duties and responsibilities
- Providing technical expertise to the Risk Profiling Systems (RPS-BRE) team to assist with development, and maintenance of the RPS-BRE utilising IBM Integration bus/ACE, MQ and other tools
- Providing operational support and working with Enterprise Architects to develop and enhance risk engine
- Supporting business teams by identifying opportunities to create/enhance risk-profiling capability and raising alerts by conducting data analysis using statistical, relational and cognitive analytics
- Coordinating release and ensuring business continuity by supporting and monitoring production environments, across a range of decision services
- Conducting capability roadshows by making presentations to business and technology stakeholders as and when required
- Supporting production go-live, stabilization, warranty, operation and transition activities.
Additional information
Specified personnel must demonstrate a minimum of five years' Technical environments experience for all essential criteria listed below:
- Designing/developing solutions that collect and integrate data from various internal and external sources into an Active Enterprise Data Warehouse on a Teradata MPP Platform and environments
- Development capability specialized on backend data processing to support complex data models, data transformation that cannot be solved using traditional ETL tools/ techniques
- Experience in Teradata database administration and performance tuning
- Analytical skills in interrogating, manipulating, wrangling and processing complex and large-scale datasets in a fast paced production environment
- Designing, automating and implementing high quality data processes
- Strong analytic and troubleshooting experience in fault diagnosis, resolution and production system stabilization
- Working closely with business and technical teams to ensure business and end-user requirements are met timely and any system issues are resolved
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across varying levels
- Experience in providing technical mentoring and support to other team members - developers and test engineers.
Desirable Criteria:
- Good knowledge of PNRGOV and other industry passenger data standards
- Good understanding of ETL principles, preferably with knowledge of IBM InfoSphere DataStage
- Experience in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
- ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
- Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
