Job Description

About the Role
As a Data Architect, you’ll be responsible for designing, creating, and managing data architecture across the Newcastle Building Society Group. You’ll establish a solid foundation for data management, ensuring that data is organised, accessible, secure and aligned with business objectives, alongside designing warehouses, file systems, data bases and defining how data will be collected and organised.

Data Governance and Quality will be a key focus of the role. You’ll design and implement processes for ETL, define and manage standards, guidelines and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and data quality, alongside establish best practices for data modelling, storage, integration, and security across structured and unstructured data sources.

You’ll interpret and deliver impactful strategic plans improving data integration, data quality, and data delivery in support of business initiatives and road maps, alongside implementing the long-term technology strategy and innovations roadmap across analytics, data engineering, and data platforms.

About You
You’ll have proven experience working as a Data Architect, with significant experience designing and implementing data models for enterprise data initiatives and experience leading projects involving data warehousing, data modelling and data analytics.

Proficiency in the design and implementation of modern data architecture and concepts such as cloud services (AWS, Azure or GCP), real-time data distribution (Kafka or Dataflow), and modern data warehouse tools (Snowflake or Databricks) is essential as it’s integral to our long-term vision.

Experience with business intelligence tools and technologies such as ETL, Power BI and Tableau, alongside an understanding or awareness of programming languages would beneficial, but isn’t essential.
