What will you be doing?

Designs, builds, and maintains data systems and pipelines. Ensure data quality and accuracy. Prioritize projects, plan, estimate, design, develop, test, and roll out projects. Monitor data applications and track product quality, performance, and stability. Documenting data engineering processes, best practices, and knowledge sharing to ensure the transfer of knowledge within the team and organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ability to communicate well with global distributed teams.
  • Independently design, code, unit test and deliver testable user stories.
  • Demonstrate solutions through documentation, diagrams, code comments with optimized code.
  • Maintain security standards compliance.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, internal and external.
  • Ability to analyze the issue in detail and provide multiple solutions approaches to a problem statement.
  • Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in data processing and storage systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Develop high quality applications that meets the performance and scalability standards in a multi distributed platform.
  • Establishing data quality standards, implementing data governance processes, and ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of enterprise software development experience and SDLC.
  • 7+ years Business intelligence and Analytics industry experience.
  • Extensive experience aligning data from disparate sources with varying granularity.
  • Familiarity with data integration techniques and tools, including APIs, data streaming, and ETL processes.
  • Extensive experience in Linux or Unix OS or Big Data scripting Languages (Python, Spark, PySpark, Scala).
  • Experience in working with third-party job scheduler (Airflow, Control-M a plus).
  • Strong communication and leadership skills required.
  • Agile Scrum experience required.
  • Large-scale big data experience preferred.
  • Retail industry experience is preferred.
  • Must have experience working with offshore and global distributed teams.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The salary range for this role is $138,000.  

 

This job is also eligible for bonus pay.  We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
