The Business Insights Analytics Data Engineering Lead will partner with the Business Insights Team to help us optimize our business data footprint, considering where we are today and the firm's long-term future state data and technology architecture. This role involves understanding business context and collaborating with various stakeholders across the organization to build scalable solutions that meet Business needs while aligning with Investment Technology standards.

This position will report to the Head of Business Insights, matrix to the Investment Technology, and be a dedicated member of the Business Insights Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Gathering data needs across users, documenting and translating requirements.
  • Agile planning with cross-functional team balancing strategic initiatives and ad hoc requests.
  • Quarterly planning with analytics team to align with firmwide initiatives.
  • Designing models to combine client, marketing, industry, and proprietary data, etc.
  • Creating ETL/ELT pipelines to prepare data for usage by the Business Insights Team
  • Incorporate proprietary data into shared analytics tools.
  • Collaborating with colleagues on ideas and issues.
  • Create visualizations and dashboards.
  • Production dashboard development.
  • Peer reviews and quality assurance testing.
  • Code and query support and technical peer reviews.
  • Maintaining data documentation.
  • Teaching others on the team as appropriate.
  • Collaborating with IT on data infrastructure & architecture development and implementation

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience with analytics, enterprise data architecture, and developing data platforms.
  • Four-year college degree
  • 5 years with applied experience in one or more of the following technologies: Tableau, Python, Azure DevOps, SQL, Snowflake, AI/ML

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts and technologies.
  • Excels at communicating complex technical concepts in easily understandable business language, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated excellence in data wrangling, analysis, and UI/UX design.
  • Experience implementing and scaling modern data architectures.
  • Ability to work effectively and contribute in a team environment, as well as independently.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize activities, and take initiative within area of responsibility.
  • CFA Charterholder or desire to obtain the CFA preferred.
  • Industry experience in investment management and or FinTech
