The Data and Technology Specialist will apply computer science and data engineering skills to support the strategic goals of the Admissions Operations team. This role is ideally suited for a Computer Science graduate looking to apply their training professionally while advancing institutional effectiveness through data-driven insights and innovative technology.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • Design, develop, and maintain predictive models and machine learning algorithms to analyze student enrollment trends.
  • Use programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL to manage data pipelines and generate actionable reports and dashboards.
  • Apply computational methods to clean, structure, and analyze large datasets related to admissions and enrollment behavior.
  • Evaluate and implement new technology solutions (e.g., AI tools, automation frameworks) that optimize admissions processes and outreach.
  • Ensure secure, ethical, and FERPA-compliant handling of student data.
  • Support cross-departmental integration of data systems and collaborate with stakeholders to align technological initiatives.
  • Produce technical documentation and provide support for tools developed to enhance data literacy among non-technical team members.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends in marketing technology and higher education admissions to continuously enhance processes and the customer experience.
  • Maintain high integrity in handling confidential information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the admissions team’s success.

Other Information:

 

This is a full-time, 12-month, benefits-eligible position. This position description is not all-inclusive as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned. Work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the academic year, with a possible shortened workweek during the scheduled summer hours’ time period.  Annual salary is $63,426. 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related STEM field.
  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis, programming, and machine learning.
  • Familiarity with web technologies, APIs, and CRM systems (e.g., Slate, Salesforce).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative approach to innovation.
