BI Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a results-driven Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist with AI Emphasis (Consultant) to guide organizations in leveraging BI tools and AI capabilities for enhanced decision-making and operational efficiency. As a consultant, you will analyze client needs, design tailored BI and AI solutions and support the successful implementation of these technologies to drive business transformation.  

Responsibilities  

Client Engagement and Needs Analysis:  

• Collaborate with clients to understand business challenges, goals, and data requirements.  
• Conduct assessments of existing BI systems vs NIQ BI solution as well as best-in class BI solutions  
• Develop and present proposals for BI and/or AI-driven solutions.  

BI Solution Design and Delivery:  

• Design end-to-end BI solutions from data identification down to data visualization including data management, data modelling and data transformation 
• Design scalable and user-friendly BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.   
• Implement BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and train client teams in their use.  

AI Integration and Analytics:  

• Develop predictive models and machine learning algorithms to solve business problems, helping NIQ BI group to grow in this environment 
• Apply AI technologies such as natural language processing (NLP), sentiment analysis, and forecasting to BI systems.  
• Package BI/AI solution into product to facilitate positioning and understanding from internal t client stakeholders 

Project Management and Execution:  

• Lead BI and AI implementation projects, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.  
• Define project scope, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with client stakeholders.  
• Monitor project progress and address challenges proactively.  

Data Governance and Compliance:  

• Advise clients on best practices for data governance, security, and compliance.  
• Ensure all solutions adhere to regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).  
• Implement frameworks to maintain data accuracy and integrity.  

Training and Knowledge Transfer:  

• Provide training sessions to empower client teams in utilizing BI tools and AI solutions.  
• Support NIQ BI teams in growing their skillset in this domain 
• Document project processes and insights to support long-term client success.  

Thought Leadership and Strategy:  

• Stay current with emerging trends in BI and AI technologies.  
• Provide strategic insights to clients on future-proofing their BI and AI initiatives.  
• Develop white papers or case studies showcasing successful projects.  

Qualifications

Required:  

Education:  

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in computer science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.  

Experience:  

• 3+ years of experience in business intelligence or AI consulting roles.  
• Proven track record of delivering BI and AI solutions across multiple industries leveraging PowerBI, Tableau or other best-in class BI platforms 
• Hands-on experience with BI tools and AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, PyTorch).  

Technical Skills:  

• Advanced knowledge of SQL and data modeling.  
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R.  
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and data warehouses.  

Soft Skills:  

• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.  
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.  
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment.  
• Able to share BI solutions in a digestible way that helps our clients meet their strategic goals.  

Preferred:  

• Experience with data storytelling.
