Our medical robotics team at ZEISS is looking for a highly motivated intern to contribute to research and development in robotics for next-generation medical applications. Your RoleDevelop and test concepts for medical robotics, robot-assisted surgery
Work on robotics, sensor signal processing and fusion, creation of models from sensor inputs, machine learning
Evaluate concepts both in simulation and on real setups, get hands-on experience with robotics in the medical field
Conduct experiments in our robotics laboratory
Present and discuss research findings in team and department meetings
Work closely with experts in robotics, sensor signal processing, modeling, and medical technology, as part of an international project
Work with researchers and engineers in a collaborative environment at the ZEISS Innovation Hub Karlsruhe, right on site of the KIT-campus north
You are enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in computer science, electrical engineering, or mechatronics (preferably) - Alternatively, in biomedical engineering, physics, or comparable
You have basic knowledge in robotics, modeling, and sensor processing
You have programming knowledge in at least one of the following: Python, ROS, C++
Knowledge in optical sensing systems, optical coherence tomography, is a plus
Fluent English language skills
A hands-on mentality, an open mind, excellent problem-solving, communication and innovation skills
Passion for innovation and enthusiasm for innovative technologies as well as motivation to work in agile, interdisciplinary teams
