Business Unit Overview:

The Americas Institutional Businesses (AIB) is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with sophisticated institutional investors. Across the US, Canada and LatAm, AIB is focused on helping pensions, universities, non-profits, family offices, healthcare systems and other institutional investors meet their financial goals and serve their constituents and communities. We are comprised of teams of professionals with expertise spanning many functions working together to meet the unique needs of our clients including relationship management, marketing, sales, client service, and product development and management. Professionals within AIB work together to deliver a full range of asset management, risk management and advisory services supporting our clients’ investment objectives. 

About this role: 

The Business Intelligence Analyst/Associate role is part of the Americas Institutional Business COO team, working in Sales Enablement. This role is focused on transforming the experience for BlackRock's sales teams, their partners, and the COO team we directly support. The team works closely with sales, internal technology teams, and functional business partners to develop impactful reporting and analytics for strategic business decisions. This role will also be responsible for owning recurring reporting to deliver back to Sales and senior leadership in a timely fashion, and work towards improving the controls on those procedures for the future.

The role will require effective use of Excel, Power BI, as well as other technology tools. You will also need a proficiency transforming raw datasets into intuitive information for Sales and COO members. Using Python and SQL can be a big plus in this role but is not required. BlackRock uses Microsoft Dynamics, and having any experience with a CRM system will help greatly in getting started quickly.

The foundation of the Sales Enablement's Engineering & BI team is an existing ETL process that powers the products built by the team (30+ reports in Power BI and XLSX solutions). This role will be leveraging that data for these sales solutions and requests, and having a background in Finance will greatly help understand these datasets and how they can be interpreted.

  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support for existing Power BI reports.
  • Ability to connect information across multiple datasets and give business clarity on that information.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly manual reports to deliver to Sales and senior leadership.
  • Enhance & create new Power BI reporting with business counterparts.
  • Working with COO to create new projects and visuals in Power BI or XLSX.
  • Working with Engineering to incorporate new datasets needed to create these new ideas that Sales is bringing to the team.
  • Proficiency in data review and ensuring new data sources, and provided datasets are accurate (quality control of the platform used for Reporting).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Detail oriented self-starter who can manage their time effectively.
  • Proficiency using Excel / tabular data.
  • Proficiency using Power BI (or other software, such as Tableau).
  • Data modeling, and strategies for cleaning and validating data.
  • Experience with Python / SQL for data transformation a plus.
  • Experience working in a Finance firm a plus.
  • Microsoft Dynamics experience a plus (or other CRMs).
  • UX or design experience a plus.
