Data Science Team Lead (Maternity cover)

We're looking for a Data Science Team Lead to temporarily step in and drive the strategic and technical direction of our Data Science team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll oversee a skilled team working on impactful products - Surfshark and Incogni - delivering insights and models that shape key product decisions and user experiences.

If you want to:

• Lead and support a high-performing data science team through guidance, feedback, and career development;
• Own Agile events and ensure iterative development across data science initiatives;
• Translate business goals into actionable data projects and manage stakeholder expectations;
• Advice on architectural decisions for model design, deployment, and scaling in production;
• Contribute directly to high-impact projects through research, prototyping, and implementation;
• Continuously improve practices around code quality, model reliability and reproducibility.

• Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with deploying ML models to production;
• Strong analytical thinking and a creative approach to applying algorithms;
• Confidence in explaining technical decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences;
• A proactive mindset in fostering a research-driven environment, sharing knowledge, and bringing fresh ideas to the team;
• Experience in people management, including leading and mentoring a team.
