LMI is seeking a Data Science SME to support a client located at Fort Belvoir, VA.

Responsibilities

This Data Scientist will work with a team of data scientists, data engineers, and data analysts to support advanced analytics projects for Army customers. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading customer engagement and serve as a trusted program innovator.
  • Advise on digital transformation efforts to enable data science capabilities at the Enterprise scale.
  • Engage technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand business processes, analytical requirements, key data elements, etc.
  • Define and develop techniques to integrate, consolidate, and structure data for analytical use.
  • Develop briefing packages to communicate complex ideas to non-technical customers.
  • Travel: Minimal, less than 10%

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • DoD Secret clearance required. Must have at a minimum an active Interim Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, public policy or related field.
  • 7+ years of related work experience.
  • Experience leading a team of advanced analytics professionals.
  • Experience with Agile project management.
  • Experience with big data and big data technologies.
  • Experience with data visualizations and interactive dashboards.
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to influence and align others and move toward a common vision or goal.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Graduate degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • Experience working with data analysis tools including object-oriented programming (Python, Java), computational analysis tools (R, MATLAB), and associated data science libraries (scikit-learn).
  • Experience with Palantir’s Foundry platform.
  • Experience with US Army data.
