We’re looking for a strategic yet hands-on principal Data & Analytics Lead to take ownership of our data initiatives in the Carrier Solutions space—an exciting and rapidly evolving part of Beam’s business. In this role, you’ll act as the primary data & analytics partner for our inaugural carrier solutions client, representing Beam’s Data & Analytics team in an embedded, cross-functional setting.This is a foundational role: you’ll start as a highly capable individual contributor, helping deliver impactful analytics, performance insights, and data strategy. Over time, you’ll have the opportunity to shape and build out the analytics function for Carrier Solutions as the business scales.

What You Will Do:

  • Be the Data & Analytics Lead for Carrier Solutions:Serve as the primary point of contact between the Data & Analytics team and our first carrier solutions client. Act as a translator for the client, understanding their business needs as they relate to current data capabilities, and future development. About half your time will be spent managing the client relationship, with the remaining half contributing to the development of the data solution.

  • Shape Our Carrier Data Strategy:Help define the analytics roadmap and data architecture to support current and future carrier relationships, identifying opportunities for standardization, automation, and optimization. Lead the technical design of best-in-class data solutions and integrations. 

  • Bridge Across Teams:Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Business Development, and Operations to ensure data is a strategic asset in driving the success of our Carrier Solutions platform. Maintain a simple roadmap to track the delivery of key engineering development and field questions.

  • Ensure Data Integrity & Visibility:Build scalable dashboards, reports, and data models to provide stakeholders and partners with access to timely, accurate insights.

  • Ensure Data Accuracy and Consistency across internal systems and in outbound data shared with Carrier Solutions — proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies or anomalies.

  • Deliver Insightful Analyses:Use your skills in SQL, Python, or R to build and deliver analysis that drives action—ranging from operational metrics to strategic insights about partnership performance.

  • Lay the Groundwork for Growth:As the Carrier Solutions business expands, help define what a dedicated analytics team for this space could look like, including future resourcing and structure.

What You Will Bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in analytics, analytics engineering, data science, or business intelligence. 
  • 3+ years of experience working with external partners or clients in a data-facing role; consulting experience is preferred.
  • Expert technical proficiency in SQL, dbt, and data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, or similar); Python or R is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of data pipelines, architecture, integration patterns, and warehousing best practices.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to think strategically, translate data into actionable recommendations, and effectively tell a story with data.
  • Project management mindset with the ability to build roadmaps and partner with engineering on the end-to-end delivery of data products; Jira is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills—you’re comfortable working across functions, can effectively advocate for data needs and concerns, and lead collaboration efforts.
  • Experience in the insurance, benefits, or healthcare industries is a strong plus, especially in carrier-facing roles or platform environments.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and a “build from scratch” mentality—you enjoy being hands-on, self-directed, and laying foundations for future growth.

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position.
