About the role: 

The Nuclear Company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Development Professional to support the development and execution of commercial strategy and structuring for our fleet of nuclear facilities. This position will require the development and implementation of commercial strategies in alignment with the company’s overall objectives and market opportunities, taking into consideration evolving energy market fundamentals, policy and consumer demand. 

Responsibilities:

Project Development Efficiency: 

  • Take charge of internal projects to improve business functions and unlock external opportunities.   
  • Lead the development and implementation of tools, processes, and technologies that drive operational efficiency across the development lifecycle (Inception to FID) 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address bottlenecks, redundancies, and inefficiencies in siting, permitting, licensing, partnerships.  
  • Optimize timelines and resources for project delivery, ensuring alignment with TNC’s strategic goals and regulatory requirements. 
  • Evaluate emerging technologies we should have as channel partners in fleet development.  
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by regularly assessing the effectiveness of tools and processes and implementing corrective actions when needed. 
  • Monitor industry best practices and technological advancements, incorporating them into TNC’s operations to maintain a competitive edge. 

Stakeholder Engagement: 

  • Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, regulatory /external affairs, and partnerships, to ensure alignment of project goals and timelines. 
  • Manage external partnerships and vendors related to project development tools and analytics platforms (HubSpot, Repower, GIS) 

Commercial Structuring: 

  • Structure Off-take agreements through Wholesale / Retail PPAs. 
  • Support commercial negotiations with all direct offtake customers. 
  • Form innovative structuring for data center, C&I and industrial customers that accelerate fleet deployment. 
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, meetings, and events. 
  • Direct external professional services (e.g. external legal counsel) to deliver high quality definitive agreements. 

Market Strategy: 

  • Monitors market evolving energy market conditions using a combination of external experts, vendors and intel from commodity trading partners. 
  • Compiles market data into consolidated views for review and discussion with Senior Leadership Team at regular cadence, and/or in support of making investment a commercial structuring decision. 
  • Maintains network of energy industry contacts and potential customers for TNC’s product. 
     

Data Analytics Leadership: 

  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and utilization of data across the nuclear development process to inform decision-making and improve project outcomes. 
  • Drive the adoption of data-driven methodologies to forecast project timelines, costs, and resource needs. 
  • Implement advanced data analytics platforms, predictive modeling, and other cutting-edge tools to enhance performance and reporting across nuclear projects. 
     

Team Development & Mentorship: 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, analysts, and engineers focused on project development efficiency and data analytics. 
  • Encourage knowledge sharing and the professional growth of team members through training and development opportunities. 

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred). 
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in project management, data analytics, or operational efficiency within the energy or infrastructure sectors, with a strong preference for nuclear power or large-scale energy projects. 
  • Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects. 
  • Expertise in data analytics, predictive modeling, and software/tools that support project management and development (e.g., SAP, Primavera, Power BI, Python). 
  • Familiarity with nuclear project lifecycles, regulatory processes, and industry standards. 
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
  • Ability to lead change and drive innovation in a fast-paced and evolving environment. 
  • Willingness and ability to grow into a leadership role in commercial trading data analytics as TNC progresses toward becoming an Independent Power Producer.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: 

The estimated starting salary range for this role is $118,000 - $140,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis.  The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
