Investment and Research, AD Pillar Overview:
The investment and research team at DFOAD is responsible for the research and design of various systematic investment strategies, the day-to-day management of the internally and externally managed portfolio, the development of the investment platform, as well as other research tasks required by the Principal.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Quant Developer to join our front-office team. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in quantitative finance and software development, with proven experience in developing and maintaining quantitative trading systems and financial analytics platforms. The Quant Developer will work closely with portfolio managers, researchers, and the in-house technology team to build, maintain and improve tools that drive investment research, system development, and portfolio management.
Day-to-day responsibilities would include a combination of the following:
- Develop and Maintain Investment Systems: Develop, implement, and maintain investment systems, including data analysis tools, proprietary strategies, trading platforms, and valuation models.
- Research: Support senior portfolio managers and investment researchers on tasks such as economic research, signal generation, quantitative strategy development, manager selection, and related analytical works.
- Data: Collaborate with data engineers to acquire, process and analyse various types of data required for investment research, apply statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to develop insights.
- Collaboration: Work with PMs, researchers, and analysts to understand requirements and provide technical solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and optimize investment systems.
- Documentation and Training: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and processes. Conduct training sessions and code reviews to ensure best practices and coding standards are followed.

- Experienced in investment strategy development and implementation, with a proven track record in these fields.
- Well equipped with knowledge in economic principles, statistics, portfolio theory, and financial instrument pricing & analytics.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python. Extensive experience in databases such as SQL.
- Experienced in working with financial data (including both market pricing and analytics, macro-economic statistics, company fundamentals, and fund performance analytics etc.). Experience in risk models and risk management tools is a plus.
- An effective communicator in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Detail-oriented, with a commitment to producing high-quality, reliable models and tools.
- A proactive team player who values collaboration and enjoys working in a fast-paced business setting.
Qualifications:
- At minimum, a bachelor’s degree in quantitative disciplines such as Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, or Engineering from a leading university. A master’s or PhD degree is a plus.
- Minimum five years’ experience in quantitative investment research, data science, or a similar role from leading financial institutions.
- Proven experience in developing and/or implementing systematic investment strategies, quantitative trading systems or financial analytics platforms.
