The Sustainability Program Coordinator will provide critical support to the Sustainability Department, assisting with data management, program coordination, and administrative tasks to advance system-wide sustainability initiatives. This role will ensure the collection, analysis, and reporting of sustainability-related data to inform decision-making and measure program impact.

Reporting to the Sustainability Program Manager, the Sustainability Program Coordinator will work across various focus areas, including climate action, resource conservation, waste management, sustainable procurement, resilience planning, and system-wide reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support sustainability initiatives through data-driven insights and operational coordination.

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to: 
Data Management & Analysis:
•    Collect, organize, and analyze sustainability-related data, including waste, energy, water, and greenhouse gas emissions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
•    Utilize Excel, Power BI, or other data visualization tools to track key sustainability metrics, generate reports, and identify trends for program improvement.
•    Develop and maintain dashboards, pivot tables, and advanced Excel models to support data-driven decision-making.
•    Assist in benchmarking sustainability performance against industry standards (e.g., Practice Greenhealth, Energy Star, MassHealth sustainability reporting) and support compliance reporting requirements.
•    Work with internal teams to standardize data collection and reporting processes, improving efficiency and data integrity.
•    Audit, validate, and troubleshoot discrepancies in sustainability data, ensuring consistency across multiple sources.
•    Support the development of financial impact assessments of sustainability programs by analyzing cost savings, efficiency improvements, and return on investment.
Program & Administrative Support:
•    Assist in the coordination and execution of sustainability initiatives across the organization.
•    Track and maintain sustainability project timelines, deliverables, and documentation, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule.
•    Support the Sustainability Program Manager in developing communications, training materials, and presentations related to sustainability initiatives.
•    Maintain sustainability-related content on internal websites, dashboards, and communication platforms to enhance program visibility and engagement.
•    Provide logistical support for sustainability committee meetings, working groups, and stakeholder engagement efforts, including preparing agendas, taking meeting minutes, and following up on action items.
•    Identify and assist in funding opportunities, including sustainability awards, grant applications, and partnership development.

Minimum Qualifications: 
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Sustainability, Public Health, or a related field.
Equivalent experience in data analysis, sustainability program support, or project coordination may be considered.

Licensure, Certification & Registration:    N/A

Experience:
•    1-3 years’ related work experiences required in the successful management of sustainability programs.
•    Experience working in healthcare, corporate sustainability, or institutional settings is preferred but not required.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, data validation, and conditional formatting.
•    Experience with data cleaning, manipulation, and analysis, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
•    Ability to synthesize large datasets into actionable insights and generate data visualizations using Excel charts, Power BI, or Tableau (preferred).
•    Basic knowledge of SQL or Python is a plus but not required.
•    Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data reporting and analysis.
•    Ability to audit, validate, and troubleshoot sustainability-related data across multiple sources.
•    Strong organizational and project management skills to track sustainability initiatives and ensure timely reporting.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex data into clear, meaningful insights.
•    Experience coordinating projects and engaging stakeholders across multiple teams.
•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
•    Comfortable with public speaking, facilitating meetings, and delivering presentations to support sustainability awareness and engagement.
