We are seeking an initiative-taking Data Engineer to join our growing BI team and have a key role in ensuring our data infrastructure scales seamlessly. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of our enterprise Business Intelligence (Power BI) platform with experience in Azure Date Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft Fabric. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data solutions and will collaborate closely with the BI Development and Data Analytics teams to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and visualization for business intelligence needs.

 

This position is available in Venice, Florida; Tacoma, Washington; and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. 

Responsibilities

  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable and automated data pipelines to enable Reporting, data visualization, advanced analytics, and machine learning solutions.
  • Data Integration: Integrate data from multiple sources, including databases, APIs, flat files, and third-party vendors, into a centralized data lake. Write SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data from sources.
  • Data Quality: Implement data validation, cleansing, and monitoring processes to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of our data.
  • Data Storage: Work with data storage solutions such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, OneLake, and Data Warehouses to optimize performance and accessibility.
  • Develop and maintain semantic data models, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security
  • Partner with development team to build and optimize Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support business intelligence needs.
  • Monitor and manage Fabric Capacity Metrics to optimize data infrastructure performance.
  • Leverage Microsoft solutions for data governance and metadata management.
  • Maintain data security and integrity, ensuring compliance with organizational and industry standards.
  • Work with data Subject Matter Exprts (SMEs) to translate business needs into data solutions.
  • Continuously improving data processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in BI data engineering preferably in manufacturing or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Fabric solutions (Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Synapse Pipelines, Azure DevOps).
  • Firsthand experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query (M), and Power BI Service.
  • Expertise in SQL and data modeling, with experience designing efficient and scalable data structures.
  • Ability to develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion and transformation.
  • Knowledge of data governance best practices with an understanding of data security and access controls.
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders to define reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Strong analytical, excellent trouble shooting and programming skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills. Promotes a cooperative and productive team environment.
  • Recent Experience with the migration from Azure Synapse Analytics to Microsoft One Lake and familiarity with Microsoft Fabric architecture is desired.
  • Microsoft DP-600 or DP-700 certification (Fabric Analytics Engineer or Data Analyst) and experience with Microsoft Fabric AI/ML tools experience is a plus.
