SCHOOL OF CHINESE MEDICINE   Applications are invited for the following post in the Centre for Chinese Herbal Medicine Drug Development, which is located in the Hong Kong Science Park.    Centre for Chinese Herbal Medicine Drug Development
IT Officer/Assistant (23240125)   The appointee will provide technical support for the Centre, including but not limited to the following:   Responsibilities:
  • Set up the hardware (computer, iPad, video, access control cards) and software of IT-related systems, including installation, daily operation, maintenance and safety issues;
  • Be responsible for the maintenance of the website and online management system; 
  • Support different services and new development, including smart Centre services;
  • Travel to the Kowloon Tong campus to support the clinical teams when necessary; and
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor’s degree in IT-related discipline with at least 2 years of relevant experience;
  • Strong knowledge of IT services and applications;
  • Experience in using the following technologies is preferred:
    • web standards (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Ajax)
    • programming languages (Java, Objective-C, Swift, Python)
    • data integration/API (databases, Node.js, REST, JSON)
  • Experience in using the following technologies will be advantageous:
    • application with large data structures using NoSQL (ELK, MongoDB)
    • mobile IDE tools (React Native, Vue, Cordova)
    • application of AI (chatbot, deep learning, Keras, TensorFlow)
  • A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills;
  • Good organisational and interpersonal skills; 
  • Self-motivated, attentive to details and able to multitask; and
  • The ability to work under tight schedules is essential and experience in a similar service environment would be preferred.
