As a senior leader of our Data Engineering team, you will be engaged in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes. Our focus on scalability, reliability, and performance ensures that our data infrastructure meets the highest quality standards. As a Data Engineer IV, you will leverage your extensive and deep expertise to contribute to various data engineering practices, including data pipelining, data transformations using Python, data consumption using ETL, analyzing complex problems, designing and implementing resilient data architectures with integrations across systems, and demonstrating deep understanding of full stack development, data maturity models, and complex data transformation problems and tooling.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain highly robust and scalable data pipelines using advanced data engineering practices.
  • Use Python for deeply advanced data transformations and cleaning, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Implement and manage highly complex ETL processes for data ingestion and consumption.
  • Be responsible for the Data Backbone project implementation for Engines
  • Own the Data Maturity Assessment across Engines Data
  • Lead the implementation of the Engines Data Initiative to meet customer demand
  • Use AWS services for deploying, maintaining, and scaling sophisticated data infrastructure.
  • Analyze complex problems to identify root causes and implement innovative solutions.
  • Design and implement resilient data architectures that integrate seamlessly across systems.
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of full stack development to ensure cohesive integration with data systems.
  • Collaborate with team leads, managers, and multi-functional teams to complete tasks and projects.
  • Participate in high-level code reviews, strategic team meetings, and sprint planning.
  • Review, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation such as design diagrams, architectural diagrams, and process documentation.
  • Provide deep insights and contribute to significant process improvements within the data engineering team.
  • Mentor junior, mid-level, and senior data engineers and lead their professional development.
  • Work onsite at a company office.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • Profound understanding of fundamental data engineering requirements and advanced standard methodologies.
  • Over 8 years of experience in data engineering, software development, or a related field.
  • Expertise in Python for advanced data transformations and processing. Strong knowledge of data platforms such as Databricks, Foundry, Snowflake.
  • Strong knowledge in Kubernetes deployments.
  • Strong knowledge in AWS compute and SAAS resources.
  • Strong knowledge with highly complex ETL tools and data integration processes.
  • Ability to analyze deeply complex problems and provide innovative and effective solutions.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing resilient data designs with integrations across systems.
  • Deep understanding of data maturity models and their application in data strategy and execution.
  • Deep understanding of complex data transformation problems and tooling and ability to implement advanced solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.  

Desired:

  • Deep and rich understanding of cloud architecture patterns, including microservice architectures.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Git, CI/CD, and other DevOps practices.


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $137,049.00-$191,868.60
