Job Description

We are looking for a Co-Op Student to join our dynamic team where every day brings challenges and opportunities to learn new skills and make a positive impact. You will work in a fun, fast-paced, and collaborative environment helping to deploy data and business intelligence infrastructure and solutions to our user community. You will work alongside experienced professionals eager to share their knowledge and help you succeed.

We have a focus on deploying well-designed solutions that are maintainable, secure, and well-documented, with an emphasis on automation and DevOps best practices.

Your Day to Day Will Include

• Working with our user community to develop enterprise data that feeds business reporting needs
• Developing code to perform extract, transform, and load (ETL) functions on our data sources
• Building and updating dashboards using reporting tools like Power BI or Tableau
• Writing scripts or tools, automating tasks such as setup, provisioning, data collection, data transformation, data warehousing, and reporting to name a few
• Evaluating new tools and technologies to improve the way we work
• Developing, streamlining, and communicating processes and best practices

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Engineering or Computer Science
• Experience working with any scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python
• Experience working with SQL
• Love working in a team environment, collaborating, and sharing your knowledge
• Ability to analyze complex issues, develop and recommend options, and implement solutions
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Nice to Have

• Experience working in a git environment with a modern IDE or directly on the command-line
• Practice working and developing in a Windows environment
• Any knowledge of databases and ETL processes

Security Clearance

• Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
