ABOUT THE ROLE
The Manager of Data Governance & Enablement drives the adoption of data governance and analytics across the organization. This role leads the implementation of governance frameworks, promotes data platform best practices, and ensures effective enterprise-wide use of analytics tools. Key responsibilities include measuring data performance (e.g., platform usage, data quality, ROI), managing stakeholder communications, and developing scalable training programs to elevate data literacy. The Manager aligns stakeholders to a data maturity model, fosters cross-functional engagement, and leads structured communications that promote transparency, business alignment, and measurable value.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Support the Director of Data & Analytics in managing the Data Council and aligning business decisions.
- Serve as product owner and administrator of Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud, leading configuration, rollout, and user adoption.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal data requirements by partnering with IT security, finance, compliance, and legal.
- Coordinate a network of Data Domain Owners, Stewards, and SMEs to clarify governance roles and responsibilities.
- Co-create and operationalize governance processes, including stewardship, issue resolution, and change control.
- Define and enforce data quality practices, including profiling, monitoring, and remediation.
- Establish workflows for metadata curation, glossary management, and data access approvals.
- Maintain enterprise data standards (naming conventions, definitions, classifications) within Collibra.
- Co-develop and promote a Data & Analytics Maturity Model with IT, Business, and Finance stakeholders.
- Define KPIs that measure how data enables better decision-making and efficiency.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business or a related field (Master’s degree is an asset)
- 7+ years of progressive experience in data governance, data management, analytics or business intelligence
- 3+ years in a leadership, product ownership, or program management role with cross-functional stakeholder engagement.
- Experience implementing or managing enterprise data governance frameworks, policies and tools.
- Hands-on experience with data governance platforms (preferably Collibra) including workflow design, metadata management, and cataloging.
- Proficiency with BI and analytics tools such as Qlik Sense, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Familiarity with data architecture concepts, data warehousing, and metadata/lineage tools.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
- Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
