About the role

The Data Platform’s primary responsibility is the care of feeding of the organisations data analytics infrastructure. This is mostly represented by the Data Warehouse, but includes the Data Lake, ELT pipelines, transformation applications and various data integrations. Data Engineers split their time between maintenance and uplift of the data platform itself, building data products for internal users across Finance, Sales, Risk, Product and Data Science, and working on cross-functional squads to build new products and features and integrate them with our platform. Whilst based in Sydney, you will report to the Engineering Lead.

What you'll do

• Design and development of data products, delivered via our Snowflake data warehouse and Tableau

• Build robust and resilient ETL/ELT pipelines

• Drive data quality through testing, analysis and monitoring of pipelines and products

• Work with cross-functional squads to understand and address their data and analytical needs

• Develop well tested and secure software systems

What you'll bring

• Experience with Cloud-based development and DevOps practices (AWS, ECS, ECR, S3, Lambda, SageMaker, Glue etc)

• Experience with data warehouse design and development. (e.g. Snowflake, RedShift)

• Experience with data streaming technologies (e.g. Kafka, Kinesis)

• Experience with data processing technologies (e.g. Spark, Flink)

• Strong software development skills with testing and security in mind, working with multiple languages including Scala, Java, Kotlin and Python.

• Passion to help shape the data journey at Tyro

• Interest in AI and machine learning

• Experience with dashboards and reporting (e.g. Tableau)

• Demonstrated ability to work with data consumers, analysts and product development teams.
