The Credit Analyst is responsible for conducting in-depth analysis of credit data and evaluating automated decisioning strategies to assess the performance and effectiveness of the automated decision model. This role is vital for maintaining a healthy loan portfolio by providing accurate risk assessments and recommendations, ensuring strategic alignment with the Credit Union's objectives. The Credit Analyst utilizes investigative analytics to uncover key performance indicators and potential risks, supporting the Credit Union's strategic goals through detailed reporting and analysis.
Responsibilities
Credit Evaluation: Analyze credit data and automated decisioning strategies to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money. Investigative Analytics: Employ advanced investigative analytics to deeply examine credit data, detect anomalies, and uncover underlying risk factors that may not be immediately apparent. Financial Analysis: Review and interpret financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to develop comprehensive credit analysis reports. Risk Assessment: Provide risk assessments and recommendations for credit decisions, ensuring alignment with the Credit Union’s risk tolerance and policies. Report Preparation: Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings, risks, and recommendations for loan approvals, renewals, and modifications. Compliance: Ensure all credit analyses adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policies. Data Management: Maintain accurate records of credit analyses and ensure data integrity within the credit management system. Collaboration: Work closely with underwriters, loan officers, and other departments to support the loan origination and monitoring processes. Continuous Improvement: Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in credit analysis operations. Automated Decisioning Strategy: Collaborate with IT and analytics teams to enhance and implement automated decisioning services, ensuring these strategies align with the Credit Union’s goals and regulatory standards. OKR Oversight: Responsible for the oversight and tracking of applicable Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the lending division to ensure alignment with strategic goals. Technical Proficiency: Utilize SQL and Python for coding, querying, and data analysis to support credit risk assessment and reporting needs. Data Visualization: Develop and present data visualizations using Tableau to communicate credit performance and risk insights effectively. Performance Monitoring: Oversee the performance of credit models, ensuring their accuracy and effectiveness, and provide regular updates and interpretations to senior management. #IND21Qualifications
Experience:- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in credit analysis, lending strategy, financial analysis, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing and producing visualizations in credit data.
- Proven track record in risk assessment and credit decision-making.
- Experience with automated decisioning tools and strategies.
- Proficiency in utilizing investigative analytics to support credit risk assessment.
- Must have prior experience in deep data analytics measuring operational lending data.
- Must have experience in investigative analytics.
- Proficient in SQL, Python, and Tableau dashboard design for data analysis and visualization.
- Understanding of Credit Union operations, systems and applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
- Additional education or certifications preferred.
