Job Description:
Job Summary: We are seeking a results-driven, detail-oriented, self-focused, and highly-analytical Senior Product Analyst to join our personal lines and commercial product management team. This individual will report to and work closely with Product Director who is responsible for managing profitability and growth for personal auto, renters and commercial products.
Primary Job Function:
- Works with Product Director to utilize actuarial techniques to gather data and analyze trends to identify projected rate adequacy.
- Works with Product Director to develop and use rate making tools such as impact files, market basket, HLDI, competitor factors, to improve price equitability and drive growth. Explains and interprets data and business decisions.
- Works with Product Director to handle compliance, underwriting and forms development and follows procedures that address compliance within the department.
- Works with Product Director to produce documents for rate filings, underwriting guidelines, and form filings; to submit filings; to track filing status; and to create and/or gather responses to filing objections as they arise.
- Develops working knowledge of all major competitors in the states.
- Evaluates Agency performances including Production, Loss Results, and Commissions.
- Develops and improve reports for marketing, policy services and claims; and participates in regular meetings to ensure that both Product Management’s and the individual departments’ short- and long-range objectives are being met.
- Participates in organization-wide projects involving IT, Policy Services, Marketing and similar departments that impact product delivery and profitability.
- Works with Product Director to drive organizational efficiency through identifying and evaluating third party data sources to aid in pricing, underwriting, sales, and report expense saving.
- Mentor and coach colleagues and co-workers to enhance current performance and position for future opportunities.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in analytical study such as mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, business, data science, computer science, engineering, or economics
- Two or more years of work, preferably personal auto product management
- Basic knowledge of related pricing, marketing, and products is necessary
- Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to make and execute data-driven decisions
- Advanced Microsoft Office Skills specifically Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, and Power BI
- A high level of proficiency in Excel, SQL, and other programming languages; knowledge of Python is a plus
- High degree of self-leadership, self-management to deliver assignments in timely manner, independence, result-focus, problem-solving, and a collaborative teammate in environment of trust and high performance are necessary
- Coachable and eager to learn new tasks, skills, and knowledge
- Independent learner who can decipher current queries/report structures and modify them as needed
- Detail-oriented and highly organized with excellent time management skills, able to prioritize workload efficiently
- Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal relationship skills
- Able to mentor and advise others with respect to queries, data analyses and interpretation
