Data & Analytics CoE is a diverse team of technology enthusiast enabling our global business. JCI has embarked on a Data strategy that focuses on establishing strong technology CoE, enterprise data management & cloud-based business solutions.

The Data and Analytics Platform Manager is an integral part of Data Analytics team. This role will be based out of US, reporting into Data & Analytics Operations Lead.  They will be responsible for maintaining the solution architecture for applications utilizing Snowflake, Azure and related data tools. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of solution design and implementation details and will successfully represent the technical team to senior leadership, customers and partners. Your technical expertise and operational excellence will influence the team’s decisions and drive secure and robust solutions. JCI is looking for someone passionate in driving continuous process improvements to optimize solutions! This is a remote position based in the US.

How you will do it

• Manage and maintain overall solution architecture, scalability, and integrity

• Building partnership relationships with business customers and other IT departments

• Lead our engagements in providing solutions utilizing Snowflake, Azure and Big Data platforms.

• Research, analyze and help implement technical approaches for solving sophisticated development and integration problems, providing a strategy and roadmap.

• Drive continuous improvement by facilitating team retrospectives, teaching problem-solving techniques, and driving greater accountability among team members

• Responsible for quality of solutions delivered, ensuring that appropriate development standards are maintained and followed

• Use agile DevOps methodologies to maintain a strong focus on delivery priorities, holding others to account for delivery, and swiftly responding to changing requirements.

• Oversee and facilitate the research, evaluation, and selection of hardware and software solutions, related standards, as well as the governance of standard configurations

• Promote resilience and responsiveness in the organization by being open and honest about challenges, and the actions required to address unexpected developments.

• Keep up-to-date with latest technology, software development technologies and methodologies

• Manage resolution of interpersonal conflicts and issues beyond the team’s authority to keep team passionate about goals and objectives, within a highly global matrix setup

• Organize efficient enhancement review sessions with the business stakeholders going through all their enhancement requests helping them prioritizing all demand

• Maintain a professional culture within the team, where individuals take ownership and focus on delivering excellence, quality and value for the customer and business

• Participate in training design, documentation and delivery efforts

• Facilitate the planning and execution of business changes using standard business process and technology

• Coaching, mentoring, leading, and presenting solutions for end users, dev teams and management.

What we look for
Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent discipline.

• 10+ years of experience with database design, at least 5 years with Bigdata and Cloud technologies.

• 5+ years with implementation and operational support of Snowflake platform or with its complementary technologies:  Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure SQL Data Warehouse (SQLDW), Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Blob Storage, SQL Database, Apache Spark, Azure Synapse Analytics

• Knowledge or relational and dimensional database structures, theories, principals, and practice

• Predictive, Prescriptive, and Descriptive Analytics using Data Science tools and technologies including Azure ML Studio/Services, R programming language

• Other Azure development expertise including Azure Databricks, Python, and Scala

• Foster a culture of technical discipline, craftsmanship, and innovation

• Hold accountability for team’s commitments, and in cases of failure, communicate failure points, repercussions, and mitigating plans

• Able to effectively influence stakeholders, team members, and peers to design and deliver optimal solutions in line with the best interest and expectations of the business

• Demonstrated experience leading and influencing individuals and teams without formal organizational control

• Understanding trends, new concepts, industry standards and new technologies in Data and Analytics space

• Ability to work with global distributed teams and in a global environment
