About the Role
The Senior Risk Analyst will support the delivery, implementation, and monitoring of Small Medium Enterprise (SME) Retail Acquisitions strategies and policy enhancements. They will work collaboratively with the Commercial Credit Risk Transformation – Growth team, using their expertise to drive growth while promoting and embedding sound risk management practices.

What will your day look like?
As a Senior Risk Analyst, you will:
• Support the delivery of Growth and Momentum strategic initiatives, in partnership with the Commercial Credit Risk Transformation - Growth team.
• Develop and implement Acquisition policy and strategies that balance new business writing/revenue growth, customer experience, credit automation/process simplification, and loss exposure, whilst ensuring initiative deliverables align with other organisational changes.
• Drive recommendations and effective decisions through leveraging, interpreting, and succinctly presenting data.
• Measure and review the impact of strategy and policy changes through periodic Post Implementation Reviews, driving relevant and actionable outcomes.
• Ensure controls, policy, and key processes meet regulatory obligations, are relevant and well embedded.
• Engage and influence stakeholders through clear articulation and documentation of change requirements, risks, and impacts.
• Build solid relationships, connect with empathy, and respect diverse perspectives.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
• Risk Experience: At least three years’ experience in risk management with demonstrated knowledge of policy, credit processes, and strategy.
• Analytical and Problem Solving: Strong analytical, numerical, research, and problem-solving ability to turn data into information and information into actionable business decision strategy.
• Data Analytics Expertise: Technical capabilities and experience with data analytics/science and/or decision systems techniques and tools (e.g. SAS, SQL, R, Python, PowerCurve, MS Office, etc.).
• Risk Compliance: An understanding of the regulatory environment and requirements with demonstrated experience in Non-Financial Risk Management.
• Influencing and Relationship Building: Collaborates effectively with immediate team and business partners, adapting communication style to build strong relationships and ensure successful outcomes.
• Stakeholder Management: Well-developed written and oral skills with the ability to deliver clear and concise messages to stakeholders and peers.
• Market / Industry Knowledge: Awareness of banking and finance industry trends and risks (technology, products, regulatory environment, competitors, innovations).
• Continuous Improvement & Change: Maintains commitment to change; engages with others to gain buy-in and act as an advocate for continuous improvement. Proactively identifies, supports, and drive opportunities for change.
• Prioritisation: Excellence in being able to prioritise the things that matter, with the ability to be agile whilst staying true to the agreed core priorities.
