Role Overview – Control Engineer
As a Control Engineer at Robotto, you will play a critical role in shaping the core autonomy stack of our drone systems. You will design and implement advanced control algorithms and sensor fusion techniques to ensure precise trajectory tracking, stable flight, and robust localization—even in GNSS-denied environments. Your expertise will directly influence the performance and reliability of our AI-powered drones deployed in real-world mission-critical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement high-level control algorithms for drone trajectory tracking and stabilization.
- Design filtering and fusion strategies for multi-sensor integration (e.g., LiDAR, cameras, IMU, GNSS).
- Optimize control system performance for real-time operation on embedded platforms.
- Model dynamic systems and develop robust estimators for system states under uncertainty.
- Implement localization and navigation algorithms that function in GPS-denied or degraded environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and test software across hardware platforms.
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of control systems in simulation and real-world conditions.
Required Skills and Experience
- Solid foundation in control systems engineering, including dynamic system modeling, estimation theory, and filter design.
- Proficiency in both classical (PID, cascade control) and modern (MPC, nonlinear control) techniques.
- Proven experience in C++ development with a focus on clean, well-documented, and efficient code.
- Familiarity with sensor fusion techniques and real-time control applications.
- Experience working with drones or other autonomous aerial vehicles is a strong plus—especially with quadcopters or fixed-wing platforms.
What Sets This Role Apart
- Influence the development of cutting-edge autonomous drone systems from the ground up.
- Work with a passionate, talented team in a collaborative environment where your ideas matter.
- Access to training, courses, and tools to support your professional growth.
- Opportunity to earn equity through our warrant program.
- Be part of a mission-driven company using AI and robotics to create positive global impact.
