As a Senior Data Developer in our Analytics Data Preparation team, you'll play a crucial role in accelerating data science projects across AstraZeneca’s R&D portfolio. Your mission is to prepare bespoke datasets for analysis and create tools that empower data scientists to work faster and more efficiently. With your analytical, scientific, and data development skills, you'll assess project objectives, understand detailed needs, and design innovative data and software solutions. You'll specialize in using code for data wrangling and transformation, rapidly learning new tools and workflows. Your work will enable scientific innovation at pace and scale, ultimately accelerating the development of life-changing medicines for patients worldwide.
Accountabilities:
- Perform analysis of new projects to establish data preparation requirements and design appropriate solutions.
- Conduct data wrangling, cleaning, filtering, joining, transforming, etc., to build new datasets that enable high-quality scientific research workflows.
- Generate reusable code/tools for use in subsequent projects.
- Plan and execute testing plans, including unit testing and user acceptance testing, to guarantee the quality of outputs.
- Actively contribute to maintaining a culture of collaboration and inclusion.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- MSc or PhD in life sciences related subject.
- Excellent skills in R or Python programming.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience working with Real-World Data.
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Experience developing R/Python packages.
- Experience with databases or cloud computing.
- Solid grasp of data science workflows.
