About the Role:

The data science intern will work as part of the data science and analytics group inside the broader analytics team. We are now looking for a talented and motivated individual to accelerate our efforts and be a major part of our data-centric culture. The candidate will report to the Director of Data Science.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with analysts, data scientists, and marketing teams to optimize spend and ads performance, predict future behavior, and make robust data models.
  • Work with various organizations and support the growth team.
  • Define, develop and produce comprehensive methodologies and analytic plans for existing and new initiatives.
  • Design, implement, and oversee the automation and interpretation of models and reports
  • Work with various sources of messy data to extract insights and models.
  • Initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
  • Work on multiple projects in parallel and adapt to change

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • Pursueing a Masters or PhD in Economy, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Physics, or similar fields.
  • Solid knowledge of statistics and machine learning algorithms including A/B testing, regression, baysian methods, trees, random forest, SVM, deep learning, etc.
  • Professional in SQL, and python
  • Experience with big data modeling preferred but not required
  • Familiar with Tableau and/or PowerBI
  • Java programming skills preferred but not required
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Good communication skills is essential.
  • Ability to provide actionable insights from the data. Ability to read between the lines and understand what data trends and outputs indicate in relation to reasons behind any red flags, or any opportunities that need to be called out and highlighted.
