Project Title: Exploring workplace experiences of autistic adults to inform the design of inclusive, AI-based supports

Project Introduction:

This project aims to uncover the workplace needs and challenges faced by autistic adults within the local context, as well as identify gaps in existing supports in companies in Singapore. We also want to explore how the lived experiences and workplace needs of autistic adults can shape the design of inclusive tools, such as large language models (LLMs), to support more autism-affirming work environments.

The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to participatory research, engage with neurodivergent communities, and develop practical research skills — ideal for candidates interested in disability studies, technology for good, and applied social sciences.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Resource Management, or a related field (social sciences)
  • Strong interest in autism, neurodiversity, and inclusive work practices
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Clear communication skills — we value clarity and thoughtfulness over polish
  • Ability to work independently while receiving support and mentorship from the research team

Preferred skills:

  • Familiarity with qualitative research methods (e.g., interviews, focus groups, thematic analysis)
  • Familiarity with MAXQDA or other qualitative tools
  • Experience working with autistic individuals

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct literature reviews related to autism, workplace inclusion, and AI
  • Assist in developing workshop protocols and facilitation materials
  • Support participant screening, recruitment, and scheduling
  • Conduct or assist with interviews and group discussions
  • Transcribe and help analyse data (e.g., workshop discussions, LLM chat logs)
  • Organise and manage research documentation and ethical records
  • Support logistics and contribute to reporting, presentations, and dissemination activities
  • Other duties as assigned by Principal Investigator

Application

Applicants (external and internal) will apply via Workday. We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.

Closing Date

Closing date for advertisements will be set to 14 calendar days from date of posting.
