Private Equity
GIC is a global investment firm and has one of the largest and broadest private equity programmes amongst all institutions. GIC PE invests across the Americas, Europe and the Asia-Pacific in a range of sectors including Healthcare, Consumer, Financial services, Technology, Industrials, Sustainable Energy and Infrastructure. Besides investing through private equity fund managers, GIC PE also invests across the capital structure in equity, senior and junior debt, in secondary PE deals, restructuring & opportunistic credit and special situations. We currently have over 100 active relationships with fund managers and have invested directly in more than 1000 companies globally across multiple sectors.
Investment Services Management - Private Equity (PE)
The Investment Services Management (PE) team sits within the PE department. The team plays a vital role to provide investment and portfolio management support to deal teams globally across 9 overseas offices. This includes propagating industry best practices, improving efficiency by process design, providing timely and accurate performance reporting, coordinating initiatives with multiple departments and overseeing the process of ingesting and presenting data to ensure GIC PE continues to retain its competitive edge.
We are looking for a dedicated Analyst/Associate to support data management activities, assist in reporting operations, and ensure robust data quality standards for the team.
This will be 2-year fixed-term programmatic hire (with full employment terms & benefits).
What will you do in the role?
Data Management and Reporting Operations (70% of role)
- Collaborate between Global Investment Teams, Data Teams, and the Technology Group to gather and understand business and data requirements.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving data issues through walkthroughs, data cleaning, and testing.
- Explore and prototype solutions to automate data review processes and generate rule-based data checks.
- Propose actionable insights for optimizing current operations and enabling data quality assurance.
- Create visualisation dashboards to present information effectively to various stakeholders for monitoring and timely remediation.
- Support the preparation of investment performance reports for internal stakeholders and senior management.
Special Projects (30% of role)
- Liaise with various stakeholders (Finance, Risk, Investment Services Data) to support GIC corporate initiatives and system-related projects.
- Opportunity to prototype solutions for various private-equity related processes (beyond data management) to promote efficiency in supporting senior management and for wider usage amongst investment teams within GIC.
What qualifications, skills and traits should you possess in this role?
- 1-3 years working experience as a data analyst and/or business analyst role. Private markets experience would be a bonus.
- Bachelors’ degree in Data science or any related field (including but not limited to Finance, Business, Accountancy).
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages (e.g., SQL, Python), experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau) and MS Office 365 (e.g. Sharepoint)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Good to have: Experience in developing user guides and process documentations.
