The Data Governance and Privacy team at Coinbase is on a mission to build a world-class platform that enables rapid innovation while ensuring compliance, trust, and quality. We develop internal products that empower teams to discover, classify, and govern data responsibly, from managing metadata and access control to enforcing privacy and retention policies. This role will lead product efforts across both the Data Governance and Privacy portfolios, collaborating cross-functionally to ensure regulatory alignment, data security, and data-driven decision-making at scale​

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties): 

  • Drive the product strategy and roadmap for core Data Governance capabilities such as data cataloging, lineage, access management, and quality scoring​

  • Lead cross-functional efforts to expand and evolve the Privacy product suite, including rights portals, consent management, smart contract scanning, and CI privacy tooling​

  • Partner with engineering, legal, compliance, and business teams to ensure data governance and privacy tools meet the needs of diverse personas — from internal analysts to external regulators

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements): 

  • Strong product management experience, particularly in enterprise platforms or data infrastructure

  • Familiarity with data governance concepts (metadata, access control, lineage, etc.) and/or privacy frameworks (PII handling, DSR, retention policies)

  • Ability to work across functions and communicate technical concepts to legal, engineering, and business stakeholders

Nice to haves:

  • Experience in regulated industries or working with compliance/privacy teams

  • Background in data platforms like Snowflake, Kafka, MongoDB, or Looker

  • Experience working with crypto product and in the crypto industry

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).Pay Range: $243,865—$286,900 USD
