Overview

BRMi is seeking a Lead Bioinformatician/Data Scientist to support the analysis and interpretation of complex translational research datasets, including multi-omic and clinical data. The job typically involves analyzing and interpreting large biological datasets, developing computational tools, and collaborating with researchers to address scientific questions. 

 

**Will ocassionally need to come onsite to NIH sites in Maryland**

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement workflows for multi-omics and clinical data analysis.
  • Developing and implementing bioinformatics pipelines and tools for data processing, analysis, and visualization.
  • Perform data integration, normalization, and statistical modeling.
  • Curate and annotate datasets using controlled vocabularies.
  • Build and maintain ontologies and standards.
  • Ensure data compliance with FAIR principles.
  • Contribute to NIH's mission by developing innovative methods and technologies for diagnostics and therapeutics.
  • Managing and organizing large datasets, ensuring data quality, and developing data sharing strategies.
  • Presenting findings and communicating results to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics tools, algorithms, and databases relevant to genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics.
  • Perform Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, or related field.
  • Proficiency in R, Python, and data visualization tools.
  • Experience with omics datasets and translational informatics.
  • Working with a diverse team of scientists and clinicians is a key aspect of this role.
