ABOUT THE JOB
The Production team is seeking a Production Test Engineer to design, develop, & implement production systems for the manufacture and test of new radar products. In this role, you will ensure that are production equipment delivers consistent results and products are tested to stringent standards while achieving production throughput requirements. You will need to think creatively and come up with solutions to solve difficult problems and push to continuously improve our methods of automation, efficiency, user interfaces, and data analytics. You will work closely with interdisciplinary technical teams to transition products from design prototype to full scale production.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Develop, maintain, and scale automated manufacturing and test equipment. Provide hands on troubleshooting and resolve complex issues across mechanical, electrical, and software domains
- Determine assembly and test strategies that optimize product safety, product reliability, risk mitigation, FMEA coverage, and schedule.
- Improve and sustain existing test systems to improve automation, consistency, total cycle time, and test coverage.
- Generate MES work instructions and user interfaces that can be easily followed by technician team. Train technicians on equipment use as required.
- Contribute feedback to early-stage design for manufacturing and test processes supporting early-stage products (NPI). Collaborate with design engineers to provide feedback and recommendations for product enhancements based on outcomes.
- Analyze data, document results, and provide detailed reports to identify defects and areas for improvement.
- Must have a strong background of various measurement sensors, data acquisition, and data post processing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, production, design engineering, and software engineering
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience with emphasis on manufacturing automation, test and product sustainment.
- Familiarity with Python, Linux, Ubuntu, LabVIEW.
- Experience working on projects that involve the integration of electrical, mechanical, and software/firmware systems.
- Familiarity with electronics test equipment such as power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscope, function generators, spectrum analyzers, data acquisition and measurement sensors.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced graduate degrees (Masters or PhD)
- Experience using and testing radar or other RF sensors and related electronics
- Experience with ESS-related testing (Thermal, Vibration, etc.)
- Experience in the testing of PCBA/electronic assemblies. Thorough knowledge of PCBA testing standards and methods.
- Experience with computer hardware communication protocols: USB, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, PCIe, HDMI, CAN, etc.
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
