Data Scientist, AI/ML Antibody Design

Position Summary: 

The Antibody AI Scientist within antibody discovery group will be part of a team involved in developing machine learning-based antibody design initiatives.  The Antibody AI Scientist will work within a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have the expertise in implementing current AI/ML models for designing antibodies as well as ability to develop new AI models using internal dataset. In addition to skill sets in computer science, the right candidate should have technical knowledge of antibody development process. This role will have a tremendous impact on developing new and novel antibodies to meet the exacting needs of scientist in life sciences involved in cutting edge discoveries 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Develop novel strategies and optimize existing ML programs to enable input of wet lab data for better predictability. 

• Applies knowledge of antibody repertoire analysis, sequence (OAIS, Nanobody database) and structural database (PDB, AF2, Uniport) and others to design, build and evaluate new AI/ML models 

• In collaboration with our wet-lab scientists use design-build-test cycles to develop functional antibodies  

• Implement and develop ML-based with active learning, antibody design solutions for structure prediction, paratope/epitope analysis, affinity maturation, developability assessment, and other antibody engineering challenges. 

• Communicate progress and project recommendations in one-on-ones, project teams and company-wide meetings. 

Education and Experience:

• M.S in computer science, Machine learning, Bioinformatics or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience

• OR, Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Machine learning, Bioinformatics or related field and 5+ years of relevant experience

• Experience with big data analytics is required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of statistics and machine learning fundamentals 

• Ability to conduct model training with Python and commonly used higher-level languages.

• Ability to apply machine learning and AI algorithms to protein/Ab design is highly preferred but not required.
