SUMMARY:

The position focuses on analyzing and interpreting complex data to inform operational strategies and decision-making including, but not limited to, direct consumer and retail sales finance lending, portfolio management, incentive strategy, and branch expansion. The role involves conducting analyses aligned with company-wide objectives, aimed at enhancing financial performance, operational efficiency, and growth across our business channels. The role includes developing monitoring tools and reports to assess the impact of strategic initiatives following changes and other duties as assigned. 

Additionally, this role will be influential in presenting and making data-driven recommendations to senior leadership and may involve people leadership responsibilities.

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    Analyze operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas of improvement across key operational / business functions.
    Utilize data insights to guide operational strategy and decision-making in direct consumer and retail sales lending, portfolio management and control, incentive strategy, and branch expansion.
    Perform analyses aligned with company-wide objectives, focusing on enhancing financial performance, operational efficiency, and business channel growth.
    Generate and manage on-demand reports, dashboards, and visual analytics, using tools such as SQL, Excel, Tableau, or Power BI, that deliver actionable insights into business performance.
    Building and employing oversight tools and reports to track the performance of strategic initiatives post-implementation.
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define KPIs and identify opportunities for process improvements and optimizations based on data analysis.
    Conduct root cause analyses on operational issues and recommend data-backed solutions. 
    Support automation and process improvement initiatives by providing data insights.
    Assist in developing predictive models to forecast operational trends in support of strategic initiatives.
    Support the operations team in developing budget projections and forecasts. 
    Assist in due diligence activities and analysis on potential acquisition opportunities; prepare internal due diligence reports from data gathered during these analyses.
    Monitor data quality and integrity across systems and suggest enhancements where necessary.
    Aid in presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, facilitating data-driven decision-making.
    Interfaces with other internal and external business partners to determine data related requirements.
    Creation and distribution of presentation materials for Executive Management.
    Provide ad hoc analysis and support for strategic initiatives and projects.


BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

    BS in Data Science, Business, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a similar quantitative/technological discipline
    Five or more years of data analysis experience or equivalent
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Excellent interpersonal skill to interface with colleagues at all business levels
    Ability to operate and communicate independently or in teams with managers and senior leadership personnel.
    Strong organizational and planning skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritize job requirements.
    Intermediate knowledge using relational databases including Access or SQL
    Advance skills in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    MS in Business, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or a similar quantitative discipline or 6 or more years of experience in an analytics function
    Experience in financial service analytics, especially consumer finance
    Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
    Programming experience: SQL / VBA / R / SAS and/or Python

WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Primarily located in office environment – will consider flexible work dynamic
    Ability to travel infrequently
