The mission of the Air Force Medical Readiness Agency (AFMRA) Analysis and Assessment Division (SG9) is to enhance medical readiness and ensure ready medics by serving as the focal point of unbiased, consistent, reliable, reproducible, and transparent analytics.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Senior Analyst/Research Specialist: $115,000 - $135,000. Pay commensurate with experience.

Senior Analyst/Research Specialist Responsibilities Include:
- Synthesize disparate facts from multiple sources and coalesce into an accurate and useful analytic product, incorporating Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) and Military Health System (MHS) strategic goals for use by Senior Leaders in both operational and strategic decision making.
- Conduct data analytics processes to include data extraction, transformation and loading; data visualization applications/techniques; and quantitative analysis of data.
- Evaluate, test and communicate analyses. Familiarity with monitoring functions that promote excellence and compliance. Make recommendations to include alternative solutions and/or mitigation strategies for senior leadership.
- Apply knowledge of Health Care Organization (HCO)/MHS operational infrastructure and the functions that sustain the MHS operational infrastructure to include boundary spanning, forecasting knowledge management, accountability, continuous improvement and improving the operational infrastructure.
- Provide accurate and timely analytical products containing well-reasoned and cogent discussion points providing leadership with substantiated options or courses of action.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Senior Analyst/Research Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Active Secret clearance or the willingness and ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Advanced degree in Healthcare or Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Applied Statistics, or Operations Research
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of generalized healthcare leadership experience and three (3) years or more working with C-Suite Executives (CEO, CFO, COO, and CIO), Governing Board of HCO and/or Senior Leaders within the AFMS, MHS or VA.
- Proficiency executing statistical modeling and analysis, utilizing SQL, SAS, R, Python, and Tableau (preferred), QLIK, or other visualization tools. Ability to work with Azure software and similar platforms at the direction of the government.
- Knowledge of Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA), MHS GENESIS, Essentris, Pharmacy Data Transaction Service (PDTS), Theater Medical Data Store (TMDS), MEPRS/DMHRSi, Expense Assignment System Version IV (EAS IV), Air Force Corporate Health Information Processing Service (AFCHIPS), MDR, Health Services Data Warehouse (HSDW), Medical Readiness Decision Support System (MRDSS) and other applicable systems as developed.
- Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare business processes. Prepare briefing papers on various financial, administrative, and business process matters. Prepare technical writing and information papers. Provide technical, administrative, editorial and graphics support for the purpose of preparing special reports, studies and analyses. Familiar with current and/or available business intelligence software/applications and data visualization tools.
- Ability to gain access to some of the following MHS information systems the Military Health System Management and Reporting Tool (M2), Medical Data Repository (MDR), HealtheAnalytics, and others as required.
- Ability to research, analyze, and craft data to create compelling, insightful, and effective informed recommendations, presentations, and reports.
