Position Summary
Lead the Vendor Master Data team and provide Vendor Master Data subject matter expertise. Analyze and present data to address issues ensuring SAP Vendor Master data integrity. Work with team members to develop and analyze business solutions and processes and to employ technology improvements. Design and implement solutions for identified issues.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provides direction and hands-on support for enterprise vendor master data governance. Directs the day-to-day operations of Vendor Management team. Manage work queue and strategic projects. Understand business objectives and manage department work priorities. Lead team to resolve any issues in workload imbalances, backlogs, and process. Ensure consistent processes are followed across the team.
- Serve as Vendor Master Data Steward. Identify, investigate, and resolve complex issues. Address recurring problems through process analysis and data analysis. Identify issues and design and implement procedural changes to improve processes. Support and lead various mass data cleansing projects that involve correcting inaccurate data, filling missing data, merging duplicates and building account hierarchy relationships. Actively seek new technologies to streamline and automate manual data management processes; review current technology solutions and make recommendations based on fit with the organization's strategic vision. Define and implement a collaborative approach for proactive monitoring, detecting, assessing and cleansing data quality issues to ensure fitness for intended uses and sustained quality.
- Assist in defining the vision, goals and objectives for providing consistent processes and data standards and ensuring alignment on priorities, implementation and governance with key stakeholders. Lead cross functional teams in driving process improvement efforts that help exceed key performance indicators. Lead communication and training efforts associated with processes and systems. Identify design gaps and ensure policies and process/procedure documentation are current and well-organized.
- Mentor, coach and motivate team to meet project milestones at high quality standards. Lead efforts for training new and existing staff on new processes and tools to help improve productivity and data quality. Develop team metrics to track team productivity, quality and work distribution while building and strengthening relationships with team members and internal stakeholders. Ensure optimal data collection/accuracy and database development.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and 5 years' relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have expert knowledge of the Procure to Pay process.
- Must be customer focused, self-motivated, results and team oriented.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required, along with ability to train others.
- Proficient in SAP, Coupa, Microsoft Excel, and other report writing software.
Preferred
- Leadership or supervisory experience.
- 3 years' experience designing/developing reports using tools such as Business Objects, Microsoft Word, Visio/Microsoft Project, and/or SharePoint.
- Advanced-level experience using Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in technical system testing practices and process.
- Previous SAP Vendor Management experience is preferred.
